Plans & billing
How Avia billing works: a refundable $250 deposit per device, 30 days free, then $49/month via Shopify.
This guide explains how you're billed for Avia devices β from your first subscription through adding devices, pausing a location, or cancelling. Billing runs through Shopify's own billing system, so charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice β no separate bills or payment methods to manage.
π΅ Info callout: You only pay for active devices. Every device gets 30 days free from the day you order it, then $49/month. Pause a device anytime to stop its charges. All pricing is in USD.

How billing works
Merchants on Shopify (with or without Shopify POS): everything happens directly within Shopify. Devices are ordered from within the Avia app and charges run through Shopify billing.
Merchants not on Shopify: billing is managed directly with Retailogists through the Avia portal.
Subscribing for the first time
Before you can order devices, Shopify shows a standard approval screen for the monthly device subscription. You're not charged anything at this step β it simply authorizes Avia to bill your store for devices you add going forward. Once approved, you can order your first device(s).
Ordering or adding a device
Whether it's your first device or your fifth:
You pay a $250 deposit per device at checkout.
You provide shipping details for the device.
The device ships and a license is created for it.
The 30-day free trial starts from your order date β no monthly fee until it ends.
When the device arrives, register it to a store in the Avia app for Shopify, and it starts collecting data immediately (free during the trial).
There are no plan tiers β order as many devices as you need. Each one bills independently, on its own 30-day trial clock and its own monthly fee.
After the free trial
30 days after you order a device, its license automatically becomes billable at $49/month. Charges are metered daily in the background and rolled into a single charge on your normal Shopify invoice β you won't see separate daily line items.
Pausing a device
To temporarily stop using a device (for example, a store that closes for a season), pause its license from the Billing page in the Avia app for Shopify instead of cancelling:
This cycle: you're billed as normal for the rest of the current cycle, and the device keeps collecting data until the cycle ends.
Next cycle: billing stops, the device is automatically unregistered from its store, and it stops collecting data.
Resuming: resume anytime. Billing restarts immediately at $49/month (there's no second free trial). After resuming, reassign the device to a store in the app to start collecting data again.
Pausing is how you "turn off" a single device without losing it β you keep the license, stop paying, and bring it back when ready
Cancelling
There's no separate per-device cancel step. To stop paying for a single device, pause it (see above); left paused, it stays inactive with no further charges. If you no longer want the physical device, return it and your $250 deposit for that device is refunded.
To cancel your whole subscription (all devices at once), remove the Avia app from Shopify:
In your Shopify admin, click Settings.
Select Apps and sales channels.
Find Avia β POS Store Analytics and click it.
Click Delete, then confirm.
You can also cancel from Shopify's own subscription/billing settings. Either way, Shopify stops the recurring charge and you won't be billed again.
π‘ Warning callout: Cancelling the whole subscription makes every device license inactive β all devices stop collecting data until you reinstate the subscription. To keep some devices running and stop others, pause the individual licenses instead.
Billing cycle & invoicing
Each device's billing cycle runs in 30-day increments from the date it started being billed. Usage is tracked daily and combined into a single monthly charge per store on your normal Shopify invoice. All pricing is in USD.
Merchants on an older flat-rate license plan (a legacy plan predating this model) may see different behavior on a few points β contact support if you're unsure which plan you're on.
