Avia device LED status guide

What stable, blinking, or missing indicator lights mean, and what to do for each.

The Avia device uses indicator lights to confirm whether it is powered on and connected correctly. During installation or troubleshooting, checking the lights helps identify whether the device is ready, still connecting, or needs further support.

The three indicator lights

The device has three lights:

  • P — Power: the device is receiving power.

  • S — Connection: the device has a network/internet connection.

  • L — Transmission: data is being transmitted over Ethernet or PoE.

Normal case

  • Wired (Ethernet or PoE): P and S should be stable, and L can be blinking — this means data is being transmitted. This is the normal, healthy state.

  • Wi-Fi: only P and S should be stable. L does not light up or blink on Wi-Fi connections.

What to check

After connecting the Avia device to power and internet, check the indicator lights. In a normal setup, P and S become stable after the device finishes starting up. If P or S are blinking, off, or not becoming stable, the device may still be connecting or may need troubleshooting.

Stable lights

When P and S are stable, the device is powered and connected correctly. Continue with device registration or the next setup step.

Blinking lights

If P or S keep blinking, the device may be still starting up, connecting to the network, or unable to complete the connection. (On wired setups, a blinking L is normal and means data is being transmitted.) If P or S continue blinking for more than a few minutes, check:

  • The device is connected to power

  • The Ethernet cable is properly connected, if using Ethernet or PoE

  • The PoE switch or injector is powered, if using PoE

  • The Wi-Fi network is available, if using Wi-Fi

  • The device and phone are on the same network during setup, if using the mobile app

No lights

If no lights appear, check the power source.

If using a DC adapter:

  • Confirm the power adapter is plugged in

  • Try another power outlet if available

If using PoE:

  • Confirm the switch supports PoE

  • Make sure the cable is connected to a PoE-enabled port

  • If using a PoE injector, confirm the injector is plugged into power
