Entering the installation height

The installation height is one of the most critical configuration values. Avia uses it to calibrate detection β€” an incorrect value leads to inaccurate counts.

What to measure

The measurement differs depending on your mount type:

Mount type

Measure from

Measure to

Ceiling mount

Floor

Bottom of the device

Wall mount

Floor

Centre of the device

Use a measuring tape. Do not estimate β€” even a 20–30cm error meaningfully affects detection accuracy.

Supported range

2.0m – 5.5m. Heights outside this range are not supported. If your mounting point is outside this range, contact support@retailogists.com before proceeding.

Where to enter it

The app prompts you for the height during the setup wizard, after selecting your network method. You can also update it later:

Mount type matters too

Before entering the height, select whether the device is ceiling or wall mounted. The app uses the mount type alongside the height to calibrate angle correction β€” getting one wrong but not the other still produces errors.

After updating height

If you correct the height after the device is already live, allow 10–15 minutes for counts to stabilize after saving.
