Before you begin: Avia installation checklist

Confirm device, location, network, and app requirements before installing Avia.

Run through this checklist before starting installation. Once every box is ticked, you're ready to install. This page is written to be forwardable to your installer.

Device & tools

  • Avia device unboxed: device, mounting bracket, screws & anchors, DC power adapter all present

  • Marker/pencil, measuring tape, drill, ladder, and screwdriver on hand

Location

  • Mounting position identified: above the entrance, centered over the walkable path

  • Mounting height confirmed: between 2m and 5.5m from the floor

  • Clear sightline downward: no permanent obstructions (signage, shelving, columns) in the detection zone

  • Power source within cable reach: nearby outlet, or accessible Ethernet/PoE port

Network

  • Wi-Fi: 2.4 GHz network SSID and password available, or

  • Ethernet or PoE port available and accessible

Warning: 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks are not supported. If using Wi-Fi, have the 2.4 GHz credentials ready.

Mobile app (Wi-Fi setups only)

Only needed if you're connecting the device over Wi-Fi. PoE and Ethernet setups skip this section entirely.

  • Avia mobile app downloaded on your phone (App Store or Google Play)

  • Logged in with your Avia account credentials

  • Phone is on the same network the device will use

  • Planned connection method: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or PoE
